Spheric Consumer brings together global seafood and
market intelligence experts to deliver data-driven research
and insights to clients operating within the seafood space
Spheric Consumer was hired by a major player in the US food cold chain to take their understanding deeper in search of unmet needs, pain points, and emerging trends. We created a quantitative end-to-end map and model of the food cold chain and identified more than a dozen areas of opportunity. In collaboration with the client, we fully developed two such opportunities into specific growth strategies.
Spheric Consumer conducted an extensive study of retailers to chart the expansive mid-level European salmon processing industry. These companies, frequently situated in Poland and Lithuania, process Norwegian and Scottish salmon into filleted portions destined for European supermarkets. Our comprehensive database, comprising 600 entries, facilitated the identification of processors.
Through interviews with 18 seafood industry experts and executives, we gathered insights on market perception, consumption, and trends for certain cold-water shrimp species in Europe, North America, and Asia. This research compiled a global outlook, identifying key biological and geographical factors impacting market performance.
Spheric Consumer was commissioned to analyze the highly complex global supply chain for species like mackerel and herring, which are sold as inexpensive protein sources across Europe, former Soviet states, and Russia. Drawing from a series of insights provided by 18 experts, the research examined trade flows and how key biological factors influence the buying patterns of traditional purchasers of these fish.
